INFO ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:  

Marvin Jacobo served as youth pastor at First Baptist Church of Modesto for 18 years. In 2000, he went to work with Modesto City Schools for two years. In 2002, Marvin joined the Youth for Christ (YFC) staff as the founder and director of Tapestry, a Youth for Christ City Life Ministry. Tapestry equips young peoplein higher risk neighborhoods to discover, develop and maximize their God-given potential. Marvin is also the President of City Ministry Network, which works to transform neighborhoods by linking the church and community organizati ons for the glory of Jesus Christ. Marvin and his wife, Cheryl, have two precious daughters, Dayna and Danyel.

On Sunday, March 1, 2009, after Catalyst, we will be having the Catalyst Film & Theology Night.  This month’s film is The Apostle, starring Robert Duvall, Farrah Fawcett, and Billy Bob Thorton.

We will be meeting at Matt and Sarah Andrew’s house.

Zoleka Rikhotso lives in a shack with her four siblings.  She attends primary school, where she is in Grade 7.  Zoleka attends church.  She attends the Ithemba La Bantwana Orphan Day Care Center.

Your sponsorship will help to provide education, nutritious food, health care (including HIV/AIDS prevention), spiritual training, counseling, and vocational training.

Please pray for Zoleka this week.

We are currently looking for people to participate in on-going monthly sponsorships for students st Big Valley’s Sochanguve Orphan center.  It cost $35 a month to sponsor one of the orphans.  If you would like to sponsor an orphan email catalyst@bvg.org.  

Each week we will be highlighting  an orphan that someone in our community is sponsoring.  Please pray for  the orphan through out the week.
