It’s just a little bit different than you’d think.
We are having our 2nd “You Asked!” night on November 11 in XRDS. Basically, this night consist of you writing a question on a card and we do our best to answer them. Come ready to ask any and all questions about faith, life, culture, the Bible, etc. If you’d like, you can submit your questions now via the ‘interweb‘!

Sitcoms; the mighty comedian of the TV airways. They make us laugh, cry (maybe), and most definitely feed our TV addictions. We are quickly hooked by characters and their humorous exploits. Why? I would argue that the human heart loves a good story and a good laugh no matter now pointedly true or profoundly impossible it might seem.
The one ‘must’ of the sitcom years was that 30-minute ‘issue resolution’ guarantee. No matter how deep… continue.

Yesterday a friend and I met with Andrea of the Congregation Beth Shalom. I have had several of these Starbucks and Genesis meetings now and it’s been thoroughly enjoyable. As we were discussing a the story of Jacob and how the grace of God is displayed abundantly in his life (and God’s choice to fulfill His promises through him), my mind wandered in ‘ponder’ mode.

This is a movie you need to have in your collection! If you missed Sunday, we played the first few scenes to close our night focusing on the great grace and mercy of God. {Our Jacob series kicked off well tonight by the way!}
This movie has so many other metaphors in it as well that can be used for powerful teaching moments. I would encourage your SMALL GROUP to throw a movie night {where you can use your brain} and watch this {Tommy Boy is out}. You’ll see so much of the Pharisees, the book of Romans, and the power of grace that you just might be overwhelmed.
