Foundational Courses

Follow Class

The Follow Class is designed to help you grow in your new relationship with Jesus. You will learn how to read and enjoy the Bible (God’s love letter to you); converse with God in prayer; experience the care and commitment of other Christ-followers (fellowship); share with others the good news of your new relationship; deal with temptations and more.

The next class starts Jan 11, 2012 (Wednesday) 6:30 to 8:00pm. We will meet in the Fireside Room with Pastor Rick Countryman teaching. Childcare is available by reservation. For reservations click here

Fundamentals Class

The Fundamentals of the Faith book provides a solid foundation for the new believer and gives the mature believer a great resource for discipleship. Topics you will learn from this 13-week class are: the basics of the Bible and how to do Bible study; the character of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit; prayer; evangelism; obedience and how to know the will of God.

Experiencing God

Knowing and Doing the Will of God

Learn how to recognize when He is speaking to you, His activity around you and how to adjust your life to His ways.

The Truth Project

This study is a starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life. This DVD-based study is available for small groups. The study requires the facilitator be certified by The Truth Project.

Other Ways to Grow

Lectio Divina and Morning Prayer

Lectio Divina is the Latin term for Divine Listening. Big Valley Grace offers several times when you can come and listen to the Lord through this reflective time of reading scripture and prayer.

Cadence: A Rhythm of Life

CADENCE is an intentionally embraced set of rhythms that allow Jesus to continually work His power of transformation in our lives. Join this group of Christ-followers as we commit to a DAILY time of reading scripture, prayer and practicing spiritual disciplines, a WEEKLY time of gathering with other believers at one of our weekend services and a MONTHLY time of extended communion together.

• Monthly Meeting

Take part in the monthly meeting hosted by College/Young Adults. We meet during 1st Saturday at 9 a.m. in The Choir Room. During this time, we share what we are hearing from the Lord through our extended communion time experiences and common reading plan.

Crown Life Groups

Crown Life Groups go through a 10-week in-depth study of what Scripture teaches about money and possessions. Life Group Members have confirmed that marriages are being strengthened and individuals are finding their way out of debt. They are also becoming consistent savers, generous givers and prudent consumers. Most important, people are entering into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as they learn to apply His Word. Groups meet for 2 hours every week. Meetings include Scripture memorization and interactive discussions.

Seeds

Grow in your personal walk as you learn to live and share your faith with others. You will also have the opportunity to get to know those who are new to our church and befriend them. Seeds meets Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. in Room W403/405.

MENS

Weekly Men's Ministry

Whether you’re single, married, divorced, 18 or 80, at the Men’s Ministry of Big Valley Grace you can get the wisdom you need to run the marathon of life. We like to call it Fuel for Life. Men meet in the Fireside Room on Tuesdays at 6:00 a.m. or in the Fireside Room on Mondays at 6:45 p.m. Click here for more information.

Step Studies for Men

In a Step Study, we grow spiritually by applying biblical principles to our lives. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. Post-Abortion Help

If you’ve had an abortion and are suffering from guilt, we want you to know there is hope! Surrendering the Secret is an 8-week Bible study/support group. This is a safe place to work through the personal heartache of your abortion. All contact is confidential. Contact Amanda for more information.

Step Studies for Women

MOPS

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Big Valley Grace meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from September to May. Childcare is limited, so pre-register to reserve a spot for your child. Visit the MOPS Page for more information.

SENIORS

We value those who have traveled far through life and bring us rich wisdom through experience. If you are a senior adult, you are invited to a wonderful time of fellowship and special activities.

Prime Time

Prime Time meets Sundays at 11:00 a.m. in the Fireside Room. These morning sessions include food, music, worship, Bible study and the joy of gathering together with other seniors who love the Lord Jesus Christ and love one another. Socials are planned throughout the year. For more information, contact Karen.

VIPs

VIPs meet Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. in the Fireside Room. Pastor Rick and Yvonne Thompson lead seniors in music and Bible-based teaching. Come enjoy great teaching and get to know other seniors each Wednesday morning. Activities are planned throughout the year. For more information, contact Karen.
