Bottling Manager
Position Summary:
Manages and directs the bottling department operations and assigned staff. Ensures that the bottling operation attains or exceeds established quality standards, productivity goals, budget and unit cost objectives, new product development support and implementation timelines. Participates in new product development initiatives and processes from the bottlin perspective. Acts as a resource consultant with bottling counterparts at all Delicato facilities for the purpose of standardizing bottling operations.
Responsibilities:
Understand, communicate and share company vision throughout division/organizaation and provide cross-functional perspective, direction and support. Provide leadership & personal support; coach, guide, nurture & develop the right people; "walk the talk". Train employees to do their job; set standars for work performance. Monitor performance and provide feedback to direct reports through formal quarterly and annual reviews; regularly communicate with staff to achieve mutual understanding & desired results. Manage employee attendance to ensure compliance with company standards; approve/monitor overtime. Conduct team meetings with department employees; includes monthly Safety, ISO & Lean topics. Handle employee issues, concerns and complaints in an objective & confidential manner. Prepare and monitors department budget. Work closely with Winemaking and Cellar departments to ensure the highest quality of wine is being bottled.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages and directs the bottling operations & assigned staff to meet or exceed established cost, quality and productivity standards.Manages departmental business planning, budgeting, training, quality improvement, continuous improvement and spending control processes. Acts as an expert resource for the bottling operations elsewhere in Delicato. HACCP team member responsible to team training, understanding & adherence.
Education: BS degree in business, food science or related field, or equivalent.
Experience: 7-10 years broad management experience in production operations.
Knowledge: Requires in-depth experience in a high paced production environment. Requires demonstrated effective leadership in a team environment, a high level of self-initiative, effective communication skills and a thorough understanding or process management & continuous improvement. Experience in a Lean environment is desired.
