CLASSIC & CONTEMPORARY SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

Sharing our story… 15-20 minutes
•    Share the best and worst tour guide or guided tour experience you can remember.

Individually… 5-10 minutes
•    Read and reflect on Psalm 23. Reflect on verse 3 specifically within the psalm. Try to discern what the Lord may be speaking to you through these words. Meditate on this in silence and jot down things that you are thinking.

As a group… 20-40 minutes
•    If you feel comfortable, share your reflections from above with the group.
•    Was there something that spoke to you through the message this weekend?
•    Psalm 23:1-3 implies following or being led. What causes you to rush ahead of the Lord’s guidance? How hard is it for you to wait? Why do you suppose waiting is difficult?
•    What do you think makes a particular path “righteous” or “not righteous”? Could it be more than just, “This is sinful; this is not”?
•    Do you find it strange that, in light of our Shepherd leading us to green pastures, quiet waters and paths of righteousness, we find ourselves in the valley of the shadow of death? Is this valley part of the path of righteousness or somewhere we have strayed?
•    Read Job 33:13-14. What gets in the way of perceiving God’s voice? When are the best times for you to listen?
•    How have you sensed the Shepherd guiding you this week? Where is He calling you to get back on the path?

Prayer… 20-30 minutes
•    Take the last question and add any clarity that would highlight a specific personal prayer request and then pray for each.
