| WRITTEN TESTIMONY I was born here in Modesto, the first child of a 16 yr old unwed mother. The oldest of six children, she was a teenager with many emotional, psychological and behavioral problems which undoubtedly stemmed from generations of dysfunction within her own family. Like so many others, she sought refuge from her pain through drugs, alcohol and men. Needless to say, she was ill-equipped to properly care for a child and rarely showed a desire or willingness to even try. When I was a young teenager my mother chose to walk out of my life permanently. My lasting memories are of a angry and bitter woman who in her rage would tell me that she wished she would have dropped me in an abortion bucket when she had the chance. Today, she is living on the streets of Modesto as an active heroin addict who only contacts me when she needs something. Click here to download entire testimony. |
