WRITTEN TESTIMONY

As early as I can remember my parents were together but dad seemed to be absent most of the time.  I would come to find out that my parents had divorced and remarried by the time I came around.  Although my memories as a child were periodic and vague they never the less meant the world to me.  My parents met in high school, my mother the beauty queen, and my father the jock.  Both of my parents grew up in alcoholic homes.  My father grew up in a more passive alcoholic environment and my mother in a very controlling un-predictable alcoholic environment.  It did not seem dysfunctional to me it all seemed so glamorous and fun.

My mother would end up being the controlling co-dependent and my father would end up the irresponsible passive alcoholic.  My parents would end up divorcing one more time by the time I was seven.  My father could not remain sober or faithful to my mother.
