Memory Verse

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.     Psalm 23:1

Monday - Begin the day in prayer; Meditate on the memory verse.
Review the sermon notes and the verses on the sermon outline.
Which verses did God use to speak to you? What did He say?

How have you recently experienced the Shepherd’s personal commitment to provide, protect, guide or correct you?

How will you choose to make God your Shepherd and go from worry to I shall not be in want?

Tuesday - Begin the day in prayer; Meditate on the memory verse.
Meditate on Psalm 23:1a.
Explain how truly believing and living as though The Lord is my Shepherd, is a surrender of your personal sovereignty.

Read 1 Chronicles 11:2, Isaiah 40:11 and Ezekiel 34:11-16, 23.
How do these verses expand your understanding of a shepherd’s role?

Wednesday - Begin the day in prayer; Meditate on the memory verse.
Meditate on Psalm 23:1b.
One of the goals of advertising is to define needs. How are you made to feel if you don’t have or purchase what is being advertised?

How is this perception a contrast to I shall not be in want?

How is I shall not be in want an intentional decision to be content with what God provides for you now and in the future?

Thursday - Begin the day in prayer; Meditate on the memory verse.

Read John 10:1-18.
What does Jesus, the Good Shepherd, do for His sheep?

If you truly believed Jesus’ claim to be your Good Shepherd, what difference would you see in yourself?

Friday -  Begin the day in prayer.
Read John 10:1-18.
What does Jesus mean when He says He is the gate for the sheep?

In verses 7-10, what does Jesus provide for His sheep?

How will the thief or hired hand treat the sheep in contrast to how the Good Shepherd takes care of the sheep?

Weekend - Begin the day in prayer.

Recite Psalm 23:1, putting the emphasis on the first word in the sentence. Now recite the verse again, putting the emphasis on the second word of the sentence and so on, with each consecutive word. As you do this, reflect on each word emphasized and what that might mean for your life.
What do you learn about God from this verse?

How has this verse brought you into a more intimate relationship with the Shepherd?

Personal Reflection & Application
Where is the Good Shepherd is calling you to follow Him?
