H.I.S. Core is a team of servants willing to take a more active role and make a greater commitment to see “Every Believer Engaged In Service = Christ’s Image Clearly Revealed.”

What is the purpose of the H.I.S. (Help In Serving) Core Team?
• To direct a person toward the S.H.A.P.E. Class
• To help coach into service
• To represent needs and abilities to the larger body of Christ.

Core Team Understanding

Current Ministry Involvement
We are encouraging all Core Team members to continue in the Ministry area(s) where they are currently serving unless they do not believe that it is where God has called them to serve. We encourage each to stay in his “sweet spot” or find his “sweet spot” of ministry service for the Lord, as we give that same encouragement to all believers in our congregation.

Caution To All Joining This Battle
We are going into intense spiritual battle. Our enemy will not be pleased with what we are attempting. Remember to:
• Stay clean before the Lord in your heart and actions.
• Have right relationships with your spouse, family, others.
• Stay humble. (Give all glory to God.)
• Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Core Team Commitment

Pray for God to:
• Protect the Core Team during this spiritual battle
• Accomplish all He desires in the engagement of the members of His body so His Name will be lifted high and His image clearly revealed.
• Supply generously, as He promised, “sufficiency for every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8)

Stand ready, with ears open, to the needs that arise as we move toward our goal.
• Ask the question, “Has God designed me to meet this need?” (If so, you will have all that is needed in both skill and time without having anything out of balance. If it is part of the “sweet spot” God designed for your journey before the world began,
it will not hinder your relationship with God, your family or the work God has for you to provide for your family. You will be fully capable, by the power of His Holy Spirit, to meet the need if God is in it.
• If God has not designed you to meet the need, look to see if God has placed the person needed in your circle of influence or contact.
• Pray that God will meet the need by His Spirit through the members of His body.

Help raise the awareness of SERVE and recommend other potential Core prospects as God brings you the opportunity.

Note: There are certain positions of service that have the requirement of membership. Normally this would be positions of leadership and oversight and areas where the church is being represented to others. Our overseeing Elders recommend that all believers who call Big Valley Grace their home make this commitment, because it is good for your spiritual health (Hebrews 13:17).
