First Place

This small group has significantly changed my heart, attitudes, daily routine, relationship with food, and most importantly, my relationship with Christ. This journey has been an answer to many prayers, but God’s mighty hand did not move until I was ready to turn away from my own ideas and rebellion. When I finally chose to give Him all of me, without reserve, I began to see and feel the power of a life-changing God moving in my life.

First Place is a weight-loss Bible study and so much more. The structure is designed to lead each woman toward a life of balance in four basic areas – mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional. It is built around nine commitments which include: Attending a weekly meeting, offering encouragement to each other, daily prayer and quiet time with the Lord, reading God’s Word, Bible study, memorizing Scripture, exercise, and following the Live-It food plan which is a well-balanced exchange program.

One of the first Scriptures I memorized was Matthew 6:33, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” As I have been obedient to this command, I have reaped the benefit of this promise and have watched God take care of my every need. The lessons, classes, and sharing continue to lead me further along the journey of giving Christ Jesus first place in my life. Interestingly enough, as I walk in obedience, God has showered me with rich blessings and sweet surprises that are far greater than even the weight-loss that I have enjoyed!
This is not a quick fix, wonder diet, and will not melt off weight without effort. The average loss is 1-2 pounds per week. It will take a commitment on your part and a willingness to look inside your heart to allow God to change you from the inside out. It is a choice for change, and your loving Father is just waiting to lead you down the road to victory!
