Women Fall Bible Studies

Slipstreaming is a cycling technique learned from geese. The point man cuts through any wind resistance so the others can either rest or gain greater momentum. This technique is essential for groups that require aerodynamics to travel long distances. It is also called drafting – using the leader's current to make it easier on the others. When the leader fatigues, he drops back and another takes the position.

Riders spend countless hours training alone, and then ride together to determine strategies and positions so the team will win the race.

The race of faith is no different. Each of us must pursue God alone. We may feel faith should just come to us like a vesper, lifting us up to greater heights without work or effort. On the contrary, faith is like a muscle needing exercise. Meeting with God each day in prayer and reading His Word tones our faith for the difficult hills and long valleys. It is a daily choice to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. The Bible assures us that He is going before, and His footsteps will make into a way Psalm 85:13.

Yet we all experience times when we just don't have the strength to forge forward and need to draft off someone who is spiritually farther along. Bible study is a great way to merge into the wake of a believer who has gained insight into God through extended time studying His Word. She can encourage us to keep going, and teach us how to streamline our own training so we will be ready when our time comes to take the lead.
