The scriptures have a lot to say about themselves. For example, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Just as babies need food to grow up, so we need food in our spiritual lives to remain healthy. According to Ephesians 4:11-12, Christ has given “some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” We believe we should commit ourselves to the study of God’s word as part of our worship to Him, so we may constantly be learning and growing in our love for Christ.
